Throughout the world massage therapy is an important part of self-care and health care programs. What I do

I provide Advanced Therapeutic and Relaxation Massage in a safe, comfortable, and relaxing environment.

Therapeutic Massage

I prefer to Treat the body Globally; front, back and sides.  Often when an area of the body hurts, it is because the body is out of alignment and pulling at that area.  For example, when our upper traps/neck or between our shoulder blades (or under them) are tight and grumpy, often it is caused by the muscles on the front of our body (Pecs and Serratus) pulling our shoulders and ribs forward, causing pain in the back and neck.

In order to fix the problem, one must relax the pull on the front of the body to calm the strain it causes on the back.   To fix Low Back or SI Joint issues,  balancing the legs which cause rotation in the hips, in turn causing low back and SI Joint Issues, is necessary.

This being said, in treating the shoulders/neck I prefer to treat the whole upper body.  In treating Low back and SI Joint or hip issues I prefer to treat the whole lower body.

This takes time.  It takes at least 90 minutes to do either a full upper body treatment or a full lower body treatment to help to align problem areas. If you are booking in for a specific injury, such as a twisted ankle; when injured the whole body reacts to protect and compensate for that injury.  We should treat the specific injury and use the remaining time to sooth the rest of your body.  Believe me, your body will love you for it.

Please book 90 minute appointments for Therapeutic Treatments.

If you think 90 minutes is waaaay to long for a Therapeutic Treatment, absolutely, book in for an hour.  We can work on whatever you wish :D

Relaxation Massage

If you have no problem areas, a Relaxation massage may be just the thing you need.  To calm your Nervous System; to help take, or keep,  you in a relaxed, calm, chill state.   It is also a great way to be proactive in keeping the body in proper alignment to prevent injuries.

Stress and Anxiety are HUGE contributors to Muscle discomfort.  When our minds are stressed and tight, our muscles often get tight in response.  Most of the time we don't even realize it.  Are you a jaw clencher?  A Shoulder raiser?  A Fist baller?  Some people even tighten their glutes in response to stress.  Let's Melt your troubles away...

Relaxation Massages help bring the Nervous System from a go go, Fight or Flight (Sympathetic) state, to an ahhhhhh, Rest & Digest (Parasympathetic) state.   Relaxation Massages help to promote Lymph and Blood flow which aid in Digestion and boost the Immune System. This will help to bring nutrients to your organs, tissues and oxygen to your brain.

If all you are looking to do is to de-stress and melt the day away, I can do this for you.  Need to Sleep?  Many fall asleep on my table.....

Pregnancy Massage

The body is magnificent in its ability to create life but Pregnancy is a traumatic event for a woman’s body to go through.  Your whole skeleton shifts and opens up to make room to house a human!  Your whole center of gravity changes as your belly grows.  The ability to walk, sit, stand up, lay down...all of it changes over time.  Your muscles must lengthen, realign and strengthen in different areas to accommodate these changes.  You are CREATING A HUMAN!  Your metabolism is in Overdrive!  Hormones, wow!  Then your Body has to go back to it's original, pre-birth condition while you are tending to an infant that is totally, 100% dependent on you.  Mind Blown!  Congratulations and Good Luck MOM!  Come see me, I will try to help you be more comfortable through this journey.

Lymphatic Drainage

Once the cardiovascular system delivers blood to your tissue, it becomes Lymph.  Lymph is the fluid that delivers the nutrients that your muscles and tissues require in order to exist and work properly.  Lymph flows through nodes and organs which are a part of your immune system to keep you healthy.  Lymph is pumped through the body through muscle movement.  If your muscles are tight and not moving properly, the Lymph fluid will not flow properly and contribute to dis-ease in the body.

Each of my massages incorporates Lymphatic Drainage Techniques to soften Hypertonic (tight) tissue in order to balance the Musculoskeletal System.  I prefer to work superficial to deep, gently flushing and balancing the body.

For those of you with acute, new injuries (sprains/strains/breaks) Lymph Drainage helps to relieve swelling and promotes healing.  You need to keep that tissue saturated with healing, nutritious fluid.  Hard to do when something is broken or too swollen to move :(   Without movement, there is not adequate circulation of the fluid that carries all the nutrients that literally creates our healing tissue.  Gentle Manual Lymph drainage can help with that.

I do not do Specific Lymphatic Drainage Massages to treat Lymphedema due to surgery or radiation treatments.

I look forward to working with you!
